Self-employed & 1099

Health insurance built around how you actually work.

No employer plan and an income that changes? Compare your options with a licensed agent, at no cost and with no obligation.

Why it's different

Working for yourself changes the decision

You choose your own plan

There's no benefits department narrowing the options, so comparing networks, deductibles, and total costs falls to you.

Your income can vary

Marketplace tax credits depend on your estimated income, so a strong year can change what you owe at tax time. Check the 2027 income limits.

Your time is limited

Every hour spent decoding plans is an hour away from your business. An agent can walk you through what matters.

Know before you enroll

Three things 1099 earners should watch

Your income estimate

Starting with tax year 2026, there's no cap on repaying excess advance tax credits. Update the Marketplace when your income changes, and see what to check this Open Enrollment.

Your tax deduction

You may be able to deduct your premiums with IRS Form 7206. The rules interact with Marketplace tax credits, so ask your tax professional how they apply to you.

Your HSA options

Marketplace Bronze and Catastrophic plans are HSA-eligible. For 2027, you can contribute up to $4,500 with self-only coverage or $9,000 with family coverage.

FAQ

Common questions

Does talking with an agent cost anything?

No. Your consultation is free, with no obligation.

Do I have to wait for Open Enrollment?

Marketplace and other ACA plans generally require Open Enrollment or a qualifying life event. Medically underwritten private plans are available year-round, subject to approval.

What if my income changes during the year?

Report the change to the Marketplace as soon as you can. Your tax credit is reconciled when you file, so a higher income can mean repaying credits you received in advance.

Can you meet by phone or screenshare?

Yes. Your agent can go over your options by phone and screenshare, including limitations and exclusions, so you can decide with the details in front of you.

Which states do you serve?

We are based in Tampa and licensed in 31 states. Ask us about plan availability in your state.
